Senior Legal Adviser M&A

De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek is looking for a senior legal adviser (Dutch law) to join our M&A practice group. As a senior legal adviser, your main responsibility will be to share and develop your expertise with colleagues throughout the firm, as well as our clients. The ideal candidate has worked recently as an M&A lawyer and has over five years’ relevant experience as a lawyer in an international M&A practice.

M&A is one of the largest practices in our office, providing services to a range of international corporate clients and financial institutions on a broad spectrum of high-end corporate and commercial matters. You will join a dynamic and international team, and you will provide them with ongoing guidance, mentoring and support. The job is ideal for lawyers wishing to combine work at a premier European law firm with academic work, such as completing a PhD thesis or lawyers looking for an intellectual challenge in a good work-life balance environment.

About the role

You will work closely with members of our M&A practice group and assist them as needed. This includes advising our lawyers in client-related matters on issues related to your area of expertise, providing content for lunch meetings and trainings, assisting in creating presentations and pitches for clients, developing tools to improve our work processes, and maintaining and further developing our precedents and templates knowledge base. You will also contribute to newsletters for clients and colleagues on developments relevant to the M&A practice.

You will work closely with 15 other legal advisers. Together, these individuals form part of the broader Legal Operations department. Our Legal Operations department is responsible for optimising legal service delivery to our clients. There are various teams, including know-how systems and resources, professional support, legal project management and litigation support, who help achieve this end. As a senior legal adviser, you — together with other experts in this department – will work to maximise our legal delivery.

Who are you?

The ideal candidate for this position:

  • has over five years’ relevant experience as a lawyer in an international M&A practice;
  • has broad knowledge of Dutch M&A law;
  • embraces innovation in the legal industry;
  • is innovative, self-starting, sociable and assertive in dealing with all levels of an organisation; and
  • has an excellent command of the Dutch and English languages.

We offer you an excellent work-life balance environment, including flexible working hours and the possibility to work from home when possible. The vacancy could be either part-time or full-time, depending on the needs of the ideal candidate.
